Inflight scan includes behind

During a cross country flight or a long leg, how many pilots and crew include a glance behind?

The Battle of Britain finished years ago, however, it is possible for circumstances behind us to influence the anticipated and planned passage of our flight, ie weather fronts and unannounced traffic.

Since the closure of Flight Service Units years ago, the amount of inflight intelligence and information gathered is even more reliant on you the captain and/or crew (that's if you have briefed them to do that - CRM?).

It goes hand in hand with inflight wx broadcasts and advisories from pilots enroute confirming or challenging critical wx elements.

No such thing as useless information.
